(From the back of Otafuku’s Okonomiyaki Flour bag)
Ingredients for 2 servings
½ cup Okonomiyaki Flour (find in Asian markets)
½ cup water
2 eggs
3 cups (10 oz) cabbage, finely shredded
½ oz scallion, finely chopped
3 slices thinly sliced pork belly or bacon, or pork for shabu shabu (find in Asian markets)
2 tbsp oil
Otafuku Okonomiyaki sauce (find in Asian markets)
Kewpie mayonnaise (my preference)
Instructions
- Mix Okonomiyaki flour, eggs and water in a bowl.
- Add cabbage, scallion and mix again.
- Heat griddle or skillet on medium heat and add oil. Add half of the mixture onto the skillet and place 3 slices of pork belly or bacon on the top. (If using an electric skillet, cook at 400∞F).
- Cook 3 minutes, flip it over and cook another 4 minutes.
- After 4 minutes, flip once more. (Add a slice of cheese if desired, so it’ll melt).
- Serve Okonomiyaki on a plate. Put Okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise. Sprinkle (as desired) dried seaweed (aonori) and/or katsuobushi (bonito flakes) on it.
